The draft Direct Taxes Code (DTC) along with a Discussion Paper was released in August 2009 for public comments.

 

The Revised Discussion Paper released on 16th June 2010 addresses the major issues raised by individuals and organisations through their feedback.

 

In particular, part vi) of the revised discussion paper covers the Taxation of Non Profit Organisations in India. (Pg. 20 - 27)

 

Suggestions and comments are invited to the Revised Discission Paper that is available for your reference on the websites finmin.nic.in and incometaxindia.gov.in as well as at http://www.karmayog.org/redirect/strred.asp?docId=29999

 

Responses to the Direct Taxes Code should be sent before 30th June 2010 to directtaxescode-rev@nic.in with a copy to info@karmayog.org for follow up.
